Scott Morrison

Hi, I’m Scott Morrison (the other one).

I’m married to Jodie, and we have three wonderful children—Sophie, Charlotte, and Curtis—who, as the photos show, have grown quite a bit over the years since I first posted! Our lives have been deeply rooted in faith and community at Georges River Life Church in Sydney, where I’ve had the privilege of leading until early 2025. It’s been a joy to finish well, both personally and for the church, after years of intentional succession planning.

My career began in banking after a commerce degree, but I soon realised my passion lay with people, not financial products. That led me to pastoral leadership, where I’ve spent over two decades helping individuals and communities grow in faith. Along the way, I’ve become deeply invested in bridging the gap between spiritual life and everyday work, leading me to pursue a Doctorate in Workplace Theology and Ethical Leadership at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. My thesis specifically looks at spiritual leadership and change management, particularly as it relates to fostering cultures of vocationally integrated spirituality.

I’ve also worked part-time as Head of Faith Integration at Reventure, fostering a national, multi-denominational community of church leaders committed to faith-work integration and whole-life discipleship.

The past 25+ years have been a journey of change, growth, and impact—not as a leadership guru or mega pastor (phew!) but as a husband, father, leader, and most importantly, a follower of Jesus. As I step into an unplanned new chapter, I look forward to writing, reflecting, and continuing to explore faith in fresh ways.

I hope my reflections in Lifewords bring encouragement to you. Feel free to reach out at revscomo@gmail.com.

Warmly

Scott Morrison
